By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT –  The Hartford Wolf Pack welcomed the Bridgeport Islanders to the XL Center for Friday night's latest installment of the "Battle of Connecticut."  The Islanders opened the game with four unanswered goals before holding off a furious comeback bid from the Wolf Pack in a 5-4 victory. Cole Bardreau's third goal of the season proved to be the game-winning tally at the 12:42 mark of the third period. Bardreau tucked a rebound by Louis Domingue just moments after a Hartford powerplay expired. Jeff Kubiak had the lone helper on Bardreau's tally, his first game-winning goal of the season. An early penalty from the Pack saw Bridgeport jump on the powerplay just over two minutes into the game. By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT –  The Hartford Wolf Pack wrap up a three-game homestand this evening when they welcome the Bridgeport Islanders to town for the second installment of the 'Battle of Connecticut' for the 2023-24 season. The puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m., and coverage is available on both AHLTV and Mixlr. Tale of The Tape: This is the season's second meeting between the Wolf Pack and the Islanders. In total, the sides will face off ten times this season. Tonight is the first of five games at the XL Center between the foes. The Wolf Pack took the first meeting by a final score of 3-0 on November 10th at the Total Mortgage Arena. Anton Blidh opened the scoring 12:25 into the game, scoring the eventual game-winning goal. GAME SHEET:  Click HERE Before either team could settle into the game, Greenville's Tanner Eberle tipped Bobby Russell's goal line feed into the net just 26 seconds in for the 1-0 lead. After a back-and-forth middle portion of the period, the Gladiators responded at 18:55, as Jackson Pierson tipped the tying goal into the Greenville net. Out of the intermission, Greenville recaptured its advantage as Jake Smith sniped his sixth of the season into the Atlanta net at 3:41. In 15 games for the Swamp Rabbits this season, Pavlychev ranks second on the team in scoring with 19 points (7g, 12a) despite appearing in 15 of the team's 25 games. In 89 games for the Swamp Rabbits, the Yaroslavl, Russia native has amassed 97 points (46g, 51a) over the last three seasons. Pavlychev began this season with the Reign, skating in a pair of games and posting an assist.
