By: Mark Shelley, Greenville Swamp Rabbits GREENVILLE, S.C.  – The Ontario Reign, AHL affiliate of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, announced today that the team has assigned defenseman Wyatte Wylie to the Greenville. Wylie, 23, signed with the Reign ahead of the 2023-24 season after spending the previous three seasons with the American Hockey League's Lehigh Valley Phantoms. A former fifth-round selection by Lehigh Valley's affiliate, the Philadelphia Flyers, in 2018, Wylie appeared in 131 games for the Phantoms and most recently played in 45 regular season games during the 2022-23 season, totaling 10 points (3g, 7a). A native of Everett, Washington, Wylie spent four seasons with his hometown club, the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League, before turning professional in 2020. In 272 career games for the Silvertips, Wylie recorded 152 points (31-121-152). Greenville returns to action tomorrow, October 27, at 7 p.m. for a meeting with the Savannah Ghost Pirates on Firs...

The Pack recalled defenseman Seth Barton and forward Drew Worrad from their ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones. It's the first recall of the season as the Pack prepares for a busy weekend by adding some insurance depth. Both are just paper transactions. The team will shortly announce the termination of Barton's contract; he signed a European deal. Worrad's situation is more complex but is not a contract termination situation. The Pack hosts the Springfield Thunderbirds on Friday at 7 p.m. at the XL Center. On Saturday, the Wolf Pack will start their weekend by hitting the road to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania, for a matchup with the Penguins at 6 p.m. On Sunday, the Pack will make their way to Allentown, where they will face off with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at 5 p.m. The Pack has had to change the starting times for two games. Wasn’t the easiest or most glorious of times, but I’m very proud of what I accomplished," Thompson said. "The lessons I learned, the adversity I had to deal with to grow as a player, and experiences as a player were oh so important. When I look back, it’s a bit emotional. There are so many memories of teammates and coaches, plus everybody you meet because of the game of hockey on and off the ice.” Thompson elaborated. “You just don’t get too many bad people in hockey. I met my wife because of the game, and have my kids now. It was so cool, that my kids got a chance to see me play and have a memory, and I got to share my career with family and friends,” Thompson said. The Wolf Pack's home game on Saturday, November 11th, against the Providence Bruins will now be played at 7:30 p.m. The game was previously scheduled to have a 7:00 p.m. puck drop. In addition, the club's home game on Saturday, December 30th, against the Bridgeport Islanders will begin at 6:00 p.m. The game was previously scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. All ticket holders for both games will automatically see their tickets for these games changed to the new times. By: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT -  The Hartford Wolf Pack extended their record to 4-0-0-0 while earning the franchise's 1,000th win in a 5-1 victory over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms before 5,292 Saturday night at the XL Center. The win made it four straight to open the season for the Wolf Pack, the first time they've achieved that since Jason LaBarbera was the team's MVP in 2004. "We got off to an incredible start in the first 25 minutes. We got ahead and were able to play our game and put them away. Their goalie made some good saves, and we couldn't finish off our plays. The fact we didn't finish those allowed them to get back in the game and make it a one-goal game going into the third," Pack Head Coach Kris Knoblauch said after the game. The third period saw the Pack's Alex Belizle open in the left-wing circle and hit the post 31 seconds in.
