WOLF PACK DROP 4-3 OVERTIME DECISION TO PHANTOMS By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack took leads of 2-0 and 3-1 on Friday night at PeoplesBank Arena against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Despite that, the Wolf Pack were only able to manage one point in a 4-3 overtime loss . For just the third time this season, the Wolf Pack opened the scoring. On their first power play of the night, Bryce McConnell-Barker found a loose puck near the top of the crease and jammed home his third goal of the season at 12:12. The goal gave the Wolf Pack power play strikes in three straight games. Talyn Boyko, making his second start of the season, made nine saves in the opening period. Jaroslav ChmelaÅ™ made it a 2-0 game just 33 seconds into the middle frame, backhanding a loose puck by Carson Bjarnason. ISLANDERS LOSE ON THE ROAD TO PENGUINS, 3-2 By: Jason Shaya, Bridgeport Islanders Wilkes-Barre, PA – The Bridgeport Islanders headed into enemy territory as they continued to battle Atlantic Division foes when they stepped onto the ice in Wilkes-Barre to play the Penguins. The Islanders faced off against them earlier in the season at home, and Friday night’s game marked the first road trip into Mohegan Arena. During the contest, both teams tallied goals in the opening period and headed into the last frame tied at one goal each. The Penguins found the go-ahead goal late in the third to eventually capture the victory as the Islanders lost their third straight contest. In the opening period, the Penguins scored first when a backhand shot by Sam Poulin deflected in past Marcus Hogberg at 14:14 putting the Islander down 1-0. BISON ANNOUNCE DETAILS FOR 2025-26 COACHES SHOW By: Erik Konwinski, Bloomington Bison Bloomington, Ill. –  Bloomington Bison President Andy Zilch announced today that Elroy’s will be the official Bison Coaches Show location for the 2025-26 season. The first show of the season will be Tuesday, November 4 at 6 p.m., when fans will get a chance to speak with Head Coach and VP of Hockey Operations Phillip Barski. The Bison will be giving away free tickets to an upcoming game and free merchandise, while everyone in attendance can take advantage of food and drink specials. WOLF PACK JUMP CHECKERS, 4-1 By: Jason Alwang, Howlings HARTFORD, CT: The Hartford Wolf Pack won their second straight game as they defeated the Charlotte Checkers with a final score of 4-1 on Wednesday night at PeoplesBank Arena. “I think we're taking steps in the right direction, and now it’s about continuing to build momentum.” Wolf Pack Head Coach Grant Potulny on the team's overall gameplay in the past two games. The game-winning goal came from Justin Dowling 30 seconds into the second period. Dowling received the puck and went right to the net towards Cooper Black and put on a nifty deke with the backhander to lift it up past Cooper Black (13 saves) to give the Wolf Pack the 2-1 lead. ISLANDERS SUFFER HOME LOSS TO BEARS 3-1 By: Jayson Shaya, Bridgeport Islanders Bridgeport, CT – The Bridgeport Islanders returned to Total Mortgage Arena on Wednesday night after their first two road games of the season, eager to return to the winning column against the visiting Hershey Bears. Leaving the first period with a 1-0 advantage, the Islanders were unable to maintain their lead as Hershey scored three goals in the second period to win the Atlantic Division rivals’ first matchup of the season, 3-1. The opening frame featured back-and-forth action as the Islanders and Hershey traded quality chances, but both goaltenders stood tall to keep the game scoreless early. At 18:06 of the first, Cam Berg broke the ice, sniping home a beautiful feed from Calum Ritchie between the hashes for the game’s opening tally. JUSTIN DOWLING STRIKES TWICE AS WOLF PACK DOWN CHECKERS 4-1 By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT – Justin Dowling scored the first two goals of his Wolf Pack tenure on Wednesday night, while rookie Gabe Perreault recorded his first career three-point game (1 g, 2 a) as the club downed the Charlotte Checkers 4-1 at PeoplesBank Arena . Gracyn Sawchyn won a battle along the wall in his own zone, getting the puck to Tobias Bjornfot. Bjornfot collected the puck and flipped it out to center ice, where Jack Devine gained possession. Devine sped into the offensive zone, creating a breakaway, and beat Dylan Garand to make it 1-0. The goal, scored at 8:33, was Devine’s third of the season. The Wolf Pack began to turn the tide in their favor late in the period, stacking shifts and drawing two power play looks. Morrow, 22, split the 2024-25 season between the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes and the AHL’s Chicago Wolves. He recorded six points (1 g, 5 a) in 14 games with the Hurricanes and 39 points (13 g, 26 a) in 52 games with the Wolves. He was named to the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic and was named to the AHL’s Top Prospects Team following the season. However, Providence struck early and often — including three power-play goals — en route to a 5-3 victory over the Islanders. In an additional trade, the Bison acquired defenseman Brenden Datema from the Atlanta Gladiators in exchange for future considerations. Ortiz, 24, signed an AHL contract with the Hartford Wolf Pack on July 16, 2025 after finishing last season on a professional tryout agreement with the Providence Bruins. He tabbed seven assists in 23 regular season games and one assist in eight playoff games with Providence. Marshall Warren Named Howies Hockey/AHL Player of the Week  By: Jason Shaya, Bridgeport Islanders Bridgeport, CT --  The American Hockey League announced today that Bridgeport Islanders defenseman Marshall Warren has been selected as the Howies Hockey/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending October 12, 2025. Warren recorded two goals, two assists and a plus-4 rating in a pair of games as the Islanders opened their 25th-anniversary season by earning three of a possible four standings points. Warren began his second professional season by picking up an assist on the Islanders’ first goal on opening night, Saturday’s 3-2 overtime loss to Providence. Then on Sunday afternoon, Warren scored twice and added another assist to help Bridgeport past Belleville, 6-2. A Long Island native, Warren tallied four goals and 13 assists in 53 games as a rookie with Bridgeport in 2024-25. Bridgeport Gains Point in 3-2 Overtime Loss to Bruins on Home Opener By: Jason Shaya, Bridgeport Islanders Bridgeport, CT  – The Bridgeport Islanders opened their 25th season with a nod to their past, skating in their classic Sound Tigers throwback jerseys before a packed house at Total Mortgage Arena. As the crowd roared and the puck dropped on the 2025–26 campaign, the Islanders began their year with an Atlantic Division showdown against the Providence Bruins, ultimately falling 3-2 in overtime. Bridgeport’s determination to start fresh after last season was clear from the opening faceoff, as the Islanders struck twice in the first period. Alex Jeffries’ neutral-zone pass sprung Cam Berg down the right wing, and the rookie forward buried a backhander at 5:25 for the team’s first goal of the season.
