WOLF PACK STOPPED BY AMERICANS 6-3 IN WILD GAME

By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack and Rochester Americans combined for 160 penalty minutes on Saturday night at the XL Center in downtown Hartford. When the dust settled, the Americans prevailed with a 6-3 victory . Mason Jobst opened the scoring 9:08 into the hockey game, converting on the power play for his ninth goal of the season. Brett Murray sent a centering pass to Jobst, who positioned himself in front of the net. The veteran forward snapped his six-game scoring drought when he beat Dylan Garand, giving the Amerks a lead they would not lose. In the final seconds of the period, Isak Rosén made it 2-0 with his 17th goal of the season. A turnover in the defensive zone saw the puck bounce out to the neutral zone, where Rosén picked up possession. BISON WIN ON FLAWLESS PERETS PERFORMANCE

By: Andy Zilch, Bloomington Bison   Cincinnati, Ohio  – Yaniv Perets turned aside all 29 shots as the Bloomington Bison shutout the Cincinnati Cyclones 3-0 on Saturday at Heritage Bank Center. The first period saw no scoring, and each team had an unsuccessful power play. Cincinnati outshot the Bison 10-5 in the frame. At 11:45 of the second period, Maxim Barbashev opened the scoring with a rebound goal on a Carter Berger shot. Barbashev’s second of the season was also assisted by Brett Budgell, who extended his point streak to eight games. Just 2:45 later, Berger scored his fourth of the season on a wrist shot from the slot. Gavin Gould assisted to extend the Bison lead to 2-0. Bloomington closed the period outshooting the Cyclones 10-8. The Bison established strong puck possession, preventing any Cyclone's comeback in the majority of the period. Edmonds has been assigned to the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack. Edmonds, 23, has scored five points (1 g, 4 a) in 26 games with the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch this season. The native of North Bay, ON, has skated in 120 career AHL games with the Crunch, scoring 48 points (25 g, 23 a). The 5’11”, 179-pound forward set career-high marks in goals (15), assists (12), and points (27) as a rookie with the Crunch during the 2022-23 campaign. The Lightning selected him in the third round, 86th overall, of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Korczak, 23, has scored eleven points (3 g, 8 a) in 35 games with the Wolf Pack this season. BISON'S SINCLAIR NAMED ECHL MIDSEASON ALL-STAR

By: Andy Zilch, Bloomington Bison   Bloomington, Ill.  - The ECHL on Wednesday announced the Eastern Conference and Western Conference rosters for the 2024-25 Midseason All-Star Team that includes Bison goaltender Mark Sinclair. Sinclair, 28, has complied a 9-6-1 record with a .924 save percentage in 19 appearances this season. His 2.16 goals against average ranks second-best in the ECHL. On January 11, the Hamilton, Ontario native registered the first shutout in Bison history with 25 saves against the Kalamazoo Wings. Sinclair is currently on loan to the AHL’s Belleville Senators. While with the Senators, he won his first AHL game on January 4 against the Utica Comets with 19 saves on 21 shots. (GREENVILLE, S.C.) – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, announced via a Swamp Rabbit Moving Transaction that the team has acquired forward Casey Dornbach from the Toledo Walleye in exchange for defenseman Bobby Russell. Dornbach comes to the Swamp Rabbits during his second professional season. The 6’0”, 180-pound forward accrued 20 points (3g-17ast) in 37 games with Toledo and spent an additional game in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves. A native of Edina, Minn., Dornbach, 27, split his rookie campaign last year in Iowa between the ECHL’s Heartlanders and AHL’s Wild. BISON EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO FOUR GAMES

By: Andy Zilch, Bloomington Bison Bloomington, Ill. –  The Bloomington Bison defeated the Utah Grizzles by a 4-1 score to extend their winning streak to four games on Saturday night at Grossinger Motors Arena. In the first period, the Bison successfully completed two penalty kills, which kept the game scoreless. 5:50 into the game, the Bison saw a powerplay but failed to capitalize on the man advantage. With :54 left in the opening frame, Jared Westcott found Patrick Bajkov in the slot for his fourth of the season, giving the Bison a 1-0 lead. Brett Budgell also assisted to extend his point streak to six games.   The Bison kept momentum in the second period during a powerplay as Connor Lockhart scored on a slapshot at 7:05. WOLF PACK RECALL McCARTHY FROM BISON

By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT – New York Rangers Assistant General Manager and Hartford Wolf Pack General Manager Ryan Martin announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Case McCarthy from loan to the ECHL’s Bloomington Bison. McCarthy, 23, has recorded seven points (2 g, 5 a) in 19 games with the Bison this season. He currently has a three-game assist streak, which is his longest as a pro. He has also skated in five games with the Wolf Pack, recording an assist. He notched his first career AHL assist on Dec. 6 against the Rockford IceHogs in his season debut with the club. The native of Troy, NY, signed a two-year deal with the Wolf Pack following his NCAA career on April 15, 2024. (January 18, 2025) - Liam Foudy had a three-point performance, while Chris Terry and Sam Bolduc both scored once and added an assist, but the Bridgeport Islanders (8-25-2-2), American Hockey League affiliate of the New York Islanders, suffered a 6-4 loss to the Springfield Thunderbirds (17-15-2-1) at Total Mortgage Arena on Saturday. Hugh McGing tallied two goals and three points for the Thunderbirds, while Mackenzie MacEachern and Otto Stenberg each recorded one goal and an assist. It was Stenberg’s first AHL goal and points as the 19-year-old made his League debut. Eetu Liukas had the final goal for Bridgeport, securing his first of the season. Hunter Miska (0-1-0) was incredibly active during his Islanders’ debut, turning aside 37 shots on 43 attempts. It’s the most shots that any Bridgeport goaltender has faced this season. The game marked the first in-state rivalry showdown of 2025. South Carolina jumped out to a 2-0 lead, with both first-period strikes coming in special teams play. At 4:43 of the first, the Swamp Rabbits were caught in a tough change in their first power play of the game. Kyler Kupka applied pressure and forced a turnover on Swamp Rabbits netminder Dryden McKay behind his net, wrapping around and into the open goal for a shorthanded tally and a 1-0 Stingrays lead. (January 17, 2025) - Cam Thiesing scored his first professional goal on Friday night, but the Bridgeport Islanders (8-24-2-2), American Hockey League of the New York Islanders, fell to the Syracuse Crunch (17-11-5-4), 4-1, at Total Mortgage Arena. Gage Goncalves had two goals and three points for the visitors, including his first two AHL goals this season. Conor Sheary and Gabriel Fortier each added one goal, while Matt Tomkins (6-6-3) made 29 saves. It’s the eighth time he’s stopped at least 25 shots this season. The games will wrap up a three-game road trip that opened with a 7-3 loss to the Utica Comets on Wednesday night. A wild second period saw the Wolf Pack battle back from down 3-0 to even the tilt 3-3. However, moments after getting things even, Simon Nemec restored the lead for the Comets. A defensive breakdown led to a three-on-one down low for the Comets, with Shane Bowers holding possession. Bowers dished off to Nemec, who lifted a backhander over Dylan Garand for his fourth goal of the season. The Wolf Pack started well, generating the game’s first power play at 11:37 when Topias Vilen was whistled for boarding. (January 15, 2025) - The Bridgeport Islanders (8-23-2-2), American Hockey League affiliate of the New York Islanders, fell to the Springfield Thunderbirds (16-15-2-1) in a 4-0 loss at Total Mortgage Arena on Wednesday. The Islanders had no answers for Springfield goaltender Colten Ellis (11-5-2), who made 31 saves to backstop his first AHL shutout. It was his third career shutout overall, having recorded two in the ECHL. Dylan Peterson and Simon Robertsson led the Thunderbirds’ offense, racking up a goal and an assist each. Peterson extended his scoring streak to three games, tallying four points during that stretch (2g, 2a).
