WOLF PACK SEE TWO NAMES AHL ALL STARS

By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT –  The American Hockey League announced today the rosters for the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Tech CU. Hartford Wolf Pack forward Brennan Othmann and defenseman Mac Hollowell have been selected to represent the club on the Atlantic Division’s roster. Othmann, 21, has scored 23 points (9 g, 14 a) in 28 games with the Wolf Pack during his rookie North American campaign. His 23 points rank him fourth on the Wolf Pack in scoring and tied for ninth in the AHL among rookies. Additionally, Othmann’s nine goals have him tied for 12th in the AHL among rookies, and his 14 assists are tied for ninth among all rookies league-wide. Hollowell, 25, has appeared in 26 games in his first season with the Wolf Pack, scoring 26 points (1 g, 25 a). WOLF PACK FALL TO CHECKERS IN HOMESTAND OPENER

By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT –  The Hartford Wolf Pack opened a season-long, six-game homestand on Wednesday night at the XL Center. Despite scoring on both the powerplay and the penalty kill,  the Pack fell 4-2 to the Charlotte Checkers in the first of eight games against their division rival. It would be Checkers forward Gerry Mayhew's ninth of the season that proved to be the game-winner at the 14:51 mark of the third period. Mayhew found his way to the front of the net and connected on a behind-the-net feed from Patrick Khodorenko to give the Checkers a 3-2 lead. The goal came 2:51 after Hartford tied the game while shorthanded. Scoring chances were few and far between in the opening minutes of the contest. Still, the Pack got their first powerplay opportunity of the evening at 6:47 of the first period as Checkers defenseman Uvis Balinskis went off for slashing. PRE-GAME REPORT: WOLF PACK HOST CHECKERS

By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT –  The Hartford Wolf Pack open a season-long six-game homestand tonight at the XL Center when they welcome the Charlotte Checkers for the first time this season. The puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m., and coverage is available on AHLTV and Mixlr. Tale of The Tape: This is the first of eight meetings between the Wolf Pack and Checkers this season. It is also the first of four meetings between the foes at the XL Center in Hartford. They'll meet back in Connecticut on February 28th, March 27th, and April 14th. The Pack will visit North Carolina on March 12th and 13th, and April 6th and 7th. The Checkers took five of eight meetings a season ago, including three of four at the XL Center. Overall, the Checkers posted a record of 5-2-1-0 head-to-head, while the Wolf Pack went 3-2-1-2. SWAMP RABBITS TRADE FOR COLE DONHAUSER

By: Mark Binetti, Greenville Swamp Rabbits GREENVILLE, SC –  The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, announced via a Swamp Rabbit Moving Transaction that rookie forward Cole Donhauser has been acquired from the Idaho Steelheads in exchange for future considerations. Donhauser heads to the Upstate after most recently spending time with the Idaho Steelheads. The 6’0”, 190-pound forward played in a pair of games with Idaho following the start of his pro career with the EIHL’s Coventry Blaze, where he notched a pair of assists in 7 games. Hailing from Kenmore, N.Y., Donhauser, 24, played in the NCAA before turning professional, skating with Yale University. As a Bulldog, he racked up 12 goals, 18 assists, and 30 points in 80 games. WOLF PACK FINISH OFF MONSTER SWEEP SUNDAY

By: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings CLEVELAND, OH -  The Hartford Wolf Pack completed a two-road game sweep of the Cleveland Monsters Sunday on Matt Rempe’s second goal with 5:46 remaining for a 3-2 win in front of 10,650 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The Wolf Pack earned six of a possible eight points on their four-game road trip. For Rempe, it was his first two-goal game in nearly a year. The last coming against the Charlotte Checkers. On his second goal, the game-winner, Rempe started the scoring sequence by forcing a turnover in the neutral zone on a hit to the Monsters' Justin Pearson. Turner Elson picked up the loose biscuit and fed it to Brennan Othmann, who brought the puck into the zone and put a shot on Cleveland starter Jet Greaves. Rempe was trailing the play, came charging up the left wing, found the rebound, and wasted no time in firing his seventh goal of the season past Greaves. WOLF PACK WEEKEND RECAP: JANUARY 29th, 2024

By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT –  The Hartford Wolf Pack split the first two games of their four-game road trip, winning in Bridgeport on January 20th before falling 4-1 in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last Wednesday night. Over the weekend, the Wolf Pack made their first trip to Cleveland, OH, since November 2008. On Friday and Saturday night, the Pack battled the North Division's top team, the Cleveland Monsters. The results? Two huge wins kicked off the second half of the season for the Wolf Pack. Friday, January 26th, 2024, @ Cleveland Monsters (4-2 W):  Brett Berard was the hero for the Wolf Pack on Friday night, notching the first multi-goal game of his career. At 14:26 of the third period, Berard stuffed home a second-chance opportunity on the powerplay, breaking a 2-2 tie. The goal would be the game-winner, the third of Berard's career. Richardson turns away all 37 shots; Swamp Rabbits set Greenville hockey history By: Mark Binetti, Greenville Swamp Rabbits ESTERO, Fla. –  Jordan Timmons poked home the only goal of the game 49 seconds in, but Luke Richardson stole the show with 37 saves on 37 shots, earning his first pro shutout and vaulting the Greenville Swamp Rabbits to a 1-0 win on Saturday night. The win also sets a new record for Greenville professional hockey, with the 2023-24 Greenville Swamp Rabbits becoming the fastest team to 30 wins, having done so in 42 regular season games. Jordan Timmons fired home the game's only goal, and it was so early that fans were still finding their seats. Just 49 seconds into the action, Ben Freeman took a turned-over puck behind the net and left it for Timmons streaking behind. Timmons fired a backhander that was thwarted by the blocker of Florida’s Cam Johnson in net, but Freeman fed the rebound back to Timmons.
